Just a little bit about myself, my name is Randi Jo. I am a self-driven individual who prefers to be her own chief executive in life. I grew up in a small town that didn’t offer very many job opportunities or career building options. Anyone who had a decent paying job was required to drive 30 miles one way in order to make a living.
After finishing college, I soon realized it didn’t matter what degree anyone had, everyone still starts at the bottom. For myself, I started a job with the intention of using my degree and like most others, life got in the way. Years later, I soon found myself in a job where I wasn’t using my degree or getting paid my worth.
I was taught to work harder than the person next to me. It helped for some positions where layoffs were frequent, being a person with good work ethic certainly paid off here. However, it became clear to me that it didn’t matter how hard I worked, I still wasn’t any better off than the person who worked less and was paid the same.
I have always wanted to create my own business where the sky was the limit on how far I could go and what I could accomplish. My parents were my first inspiration with teachings of independence and a constant need to learn new things. Later, my dad created his own business that he is still operating and doing well in.
Taking that first step is always the hardest thing to do to get out of the rut. I wanted to make my dreams a reality and one that I could be proud of.
